Book launch!

Book launch!
The first biography of Dave McNally, whose principled stand freed major league players from the constraints of the reserve clause and opened the door to today's era of free agency.

Exciting news! Working with This House of Books in Billings, I’ve set up the book launch date: Sunday, November 23, 2-4 p.m. at the store on North 29th Street.

For people in Billings, or those who drive to Billings for shopping, health care, etc., you can stop by the store and preorder the book. I will bring a large supply of copies to the event, and hope I have enough.

And to early readers, who buy the book before November 31, I’m extending the same offer I mentioned before: PDF files with two stories, the Orioles’ kangaroo court from the late 1960s through the early 1970s (when Dave was starring for the Birds), and another about the Billings-Hollywood ties that led to the Magic City getting professional baseball in 1948.

If you want those, please email a copy of the receipt for your book to me, and I’ll email the files back to you.

And if you’re too far away to get to Billings, not to worry. Here’s the product page for the book, which you can order direct from my publisher, Sunbury Press:

And if you order this way, or can’t get to Billings on launch day for any reason, drop me an email with your snail mail address, and I’ll be glad to send you a book plate with my signature that you can affix inside your copy.

Thanks!
