Good things just keep happening ...
Cover of the McNally biography

What a ride! Thanks to my publisher, Sunbury Press, I connected with a fine, Boston-based podcaster, Nicole Asselin, whose podcast is called Baseball, Books, and Banter.

We had a 45-minute or so Zoom session Sunday afternoon, and it resulted in a terrific episode that she released today (December 8, 2025)

And here’s the text that Nicole posted to accompany the podcast:

Apparently your girl is now on the list of places to go when you have a new baseball book! I was so happy that Dennis Gaub reached out to me to chat about his newest book. The story of a pitcher from Montana who ended up part of the group that changed baseball free agency forever. Before we even got to talking baseball we talked about orgins of names and how Montana became home to some German/Russians. His newest book, Dave McNally: The Montanan Who Revolutionized Baseball is available now!

Plus, baseball. Obviously.

And that’s not all. Sometime last spring, I connected with John Eisenberg, a retired Baltimore Sun sportswriter and author. John writes a Substack called Bird Tapes, and he invited me as a guest writer to pen something about my McNally biography.

The latest word from John is that my 1,200-word piece will appear on Friday. Naturally, I’ll share it with all you good people.

I hope this is shaping up as a very Merry Christmas for you, as it is for me!
