Brain you know what ... In the piece on Dave McNally and Social Security, also published to my web site, I referred to Lyndon Johnson as the New Deal president. No, he wasn't, and I, as a history buff, knew that but still muffed it. Johnson, credited for Medicare, Medicaid and other advances in the societal safety net, went down in history as the Great Society president.
